Abstract

Students’understanding of physics concepts is very low in physics, especially for magnetic field subject matter. To find out how to improve student’ undestanding of physics consepts in this material, action research was carried out using Microsoft Power Points learning media where the slides were given pictures and animated vidios. The research subjects were students of Class XII IPA.3 Semester I of the 2019/2020 academics year at Islamics Senior High School 2, Padang City. The research action consisted of three cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely: Desigh, implementation, observation and reflection. The research data are the results of formative tests and observation sheets of learning outcomes about students’ understanding of physics concepts on magnetic field material. The results of the descriptive statistical data analysis found that the students’ physics learning outcomes on magnetic fild material had increased from cycle I to cycle III, namely: cycle I the average student learning outcomes 41,58, cycle II 81,20 and cycle III 88,50. This data means that using microsof power point learning media where the slides are given pictures and animation vidios can improve students’ understanding of physics concepts on magnetic field material.
